Important Booking Information

When booking to RN Highbrow Lena our mare owners have these options:

Breeding Season Dates Feb 1st – July 1st, 2024

OPTION #1:

Haul the mare to The Kansas Center for Equine Reproduction in Lawrence, KS. Our vet [Shelby Hayden] at this facility will be able to breed the mare on site with cooled fresh semen. The mare owner will still be responsible for the cost of collection and processing of semen. The associated cost would be paid by mare owner directly to Kansas Center For Equine Reproduction  (KsCER). Please contact KsCER directly to make an appointment for your mare. We are no longer using EMS in Columbia, MO.

The mare owner will need to personally contact KsCER for exact cost associated with breeding a mare on site. Please call 785-813-5922 to make an appointment for your mare. You must make an appointment. Do not just show up without an appointment.

OPTION #2:

Mare owner may pick up fresh semen from The Kansas Center For Equine Reproduction. Please call KsCER to plan your pickup. Call BEFORE you leave to make arrangements. Pick ups only available on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays!

OPTION #3:

Have the semen shipped to the vet of choice by mare owner. If the mare owner chooses to ship semen it is $450 for the first shipment and each additional shipment will be $400. The shipment and stud fee MUST be paid in full before we will ship any semen. No exceptions. We ship on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays except for Memorial Day AND any FedEx Holidays. Frozen semen can be shipped at any time but is $600 per shipment. ** Collection and Shipping is one combined price per shipment. **

HOW TO ORDER SHIPPED SEMEN:

To order shipped semen please text or call Michelle Hamilton at (660)864-3200. We do require a 24 hour notice. No shipments are guaranteed without a 24 hour notice. DO NOT CONTACT KsCER. If mare owner or vet is requesting a shipment you must contact Michelle Hamilton directly. Texting is preferred!

Michelle Hamilton MUST be notified 24 hours in advance of collection day to insure your shipment.  Shipment days are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from Feb 1st – July 1st, 2024, with the exception of Memorial Day, there will NOT be shipments on this day, or any FedEx Holiday.  No mares will be bred with fresh semen after July 1st, 2024. Confirmation or cancellation may be made by 8AM CST the day of shipping.  Cancellations not called in by 8AM CST will be charged for that shipment.  Shipments are filled on a 1st come 1st serve basis.  Please remember that a cooled semen contract does not guarantee semen will be available.  In the unlikely event of insufficient semen on a particular breeding day, Michelle Hamilton reserves the right to determine which mares will be bred based on reproductive status.  

 

2024 Pricing: The 1st shipment is $450; each additional shipment will be $400. Frozen semen is $600 per shipment.

• We do NOT offer counter to counter shipments

• If your mare is not in foal by July 1st you will have to use frozen semen

• Frozen semen shipments cost $600 per shipment

BREEDING REPORT:

Once the mare is confirmed in foal please report breeding dates and confirm with Michelle Hamilton that all mare information is correct for the breeding report. It is the mare owner’s responsibility to confirm this information to make sure it is correct. If not done this could result in the foal not being able to be registered. Please double check to make sure all information on the contact is 100% accurate.
